What

Every show you log becomes a ticket in your binder, with your photos attached, and every artist you've seen gets a page of the nights you saw them. The waitlist is at stageapp.xyz.

Why

I wanted to find my photos from shows quickly, by artist, not buried by date in my camera roll. And to see when an artist plays and what they played.

Constraints

  • Artists, not venues. The artist is the root object; the venue is metadata.
  • The camera-roll scan runs on the phone. Photos are matched against 1.8 million shows without leaving it.
  • Only matched shows count toward your stats.
  • Private by default. Sharing is a choice you make per show.
  • No follower counts. Logging works offline, in the pit.

Takeaway

Venues are interchangeable; artists are identity. Choosing the root object decided everything else.
